How can the same parent spend five and a half hours planning a lunch for her friends and their children but still be a lazy parent? They don't put their energy into what is important.

We just gave a whole bunch of graduation gifts and one of the moms said, oh yeah, thank you, we got it. And my wife kind of paused and then she said, he's going to send you a thank-you note. He's only written like three his whole life.

That shouldn't be a skill you learn at 18. Easiest thing in the world to do is to have your kid text thank you — or you just say thank you. Teach your kid to write handwritten thank-you notes. It's going to help them forever.

Don't be lazy. Make them learn how to write thank-you notes. It's very simple.
