Love songs talk about falling in love. They don't teach you how to recognize a bad relationship, or how to get out of one.

Ask yourself this question: what did you not learn as a kid that you wish you had learned? I love that question.
When I was asked that question, one of my first responses was: I wish I learned how to get out of bad relationships. The flip side of that is, I wish I learned how to recognize the difference between a good relationship and a bad relationship.
When you're a kid, they don't teach you that. Love songs talk about falling in love. They don't talk to you about how to break up.
There's a difference today when they talk about toxic relationships. I'm not talking about that. In order to be in a toxic relationship, you have to be pretty dysfunctional to stay in one. But just normal day-to-day living, there are good relationships and there are bad ones, and you don't need to be in a bad one.
I wish somebody taught me what is a bad relationship. And how you exit out of a bad relationship.
Had a reaction to this? Let's talk.
