When I see a family sit down at dinner—and I go out to eat a lot—and the first thing they do is whip out the iPads and stick them in front of the kids, it takes a lot of energy for me not to walk up and say to the parents, "What are you teaching your kids?"
If they don't learn how to have conversations from you, where are they gonna learn it? This is the time to teach them. Tell me about your day. Teach the kids to say, "Dad, what happened at work today? How are you doing?"
Who is going to teach your kids how to look someone in the eye? Who is going to teach them how to ask questions to keep conversations going? An influencer or a parent?
